Using Banners to Get Your Message Out

So you’re a new business owner, or a current owner looking for ways to boost sales.  The good news is that not much has changed since that first sign went up letting people know the local Blacksmith made armor, or sharpened swords.

The bad news is there are many roads your advertising dollars can go down. It’s up to you to find the right, and most cost effective venue with the best return on your investment.

Signs are still the most common way way a business owner has of getting his message out there, and getting the word out about your goods, or services is just as important as the goods, and services themselves.

Today there are many forms of advertising. Newspapers, magazines, the internet, T.V., or radio. When used together, and with the right budget all of these can be effective ways to increase your sales or store traffic. However... they can can be very expensive, and a one shot deal. Today's great looking
ad in the local section of your home town newspaper becomes tomorrow's fish
wrapper, or bird cage liner.

That 30 second T.V. ad, or radio spot is just that. 30 seconds, and its gone. Thats why vinyl banners are my favorite, and most effective cost efficient form of getting my message out in front of customers, and keeping it there.

Let’s say you own a Automotive shop, and you have a 3 by 8 foot banner.
On on side one you could advertise “ OIl Change $9.95 on Tuesdays.” on the back side you would have “Free tire rotation with oil change.” The cost of this two sided banner is less then other forms of advertising and it can be changed anytime you want by simply flipping it around.

It’s always there, and in front of potential customers 24 hours a day.

Even when I’m not open it’s there, working for me.

If you invest in one two sided banner every two months until you have you have six banners you will have twelve different, and unique ads, and a advertising campaign that will last you all year. Use these banners and change them often. You’ll see your advertising cost drop, and your sales soar.

TIPS FOR A GOOD BANNER AD

1. Keep the message short. Remember most people will be reading your message as they drive by, or wait at a light.
2. Offer goods or services that people really can use. Give them what they perceive to be a real bargain. I call it the wow factor. You want them to think “WOW” that’s a good deal. I’ll check it out.
3. Effective use of color. Yellow on blue, or green on white. You want it to pop.
Your sign maker will be able to help you with this.
4. Change your banner often. Don’t let your message get stale. Track what works, and change what does not.
5. Always include your phone number. They will write it down, and call for
details. This gives you an extra opportunity to get them in the door.
